It’s Sunday night and I’m so very happy and content, we’ve officially declared the weekends “Family Time”. Life is very good.

We’ve been going through a heap of sunscreen, both Saturday and Sunday we spent all day at Kite Beach. JC kited both days and tried to get me out there too, but…I’ve managed to have all the right excuses! I can’t believe it’s now been over 2 years since I’ve kited, I have to break the drought.

I really enjoy the weekend family time, it of feels like I’m on a Summer Holiday. Jason and I have our coffee and a second breakfast together out on the deck in the warm air while Darwin takes his morning nap which is delightful. I love coming home from the beach feeling hot, tanned and salty, I really feel like we’ve used the day.

Yesterday Darwin walked into the water on his own, he’s walking a bunch more and we were very impressed by his sand walking skills. He is so happy, I bet this great weather and exceptional amount of naked time has something to do with it. Darwin’s First Birthday is 3 weeks away and we are planning a Lu’au equip with an Imu (an underground fire pit to slow cook pig, turkey, potatoes, corn etc) so to get things started, last night Jason and I hosted a big Bon Fire where the Imu will eventually burn. Afterwards we hope to turn it into a BBQ pit (we have so many big plans, some of which will happen sooner than others). We had a bunch of old palm leaves, branches and bushes to burn then torched some old furniture that happened to be lying around. It was a lot of fun drinking and talking by the fire with my lover while Darwin slept soundly after a great beach day.
