Friday afternoon my dear friend Hayley who I’ve not seen in like 5 years, arrived on Maui. This is her last stop on a 6 week American/Canadian adventure and will be here for 9 days which gives us loads of time to catch up on old times.

It was a blast waiting for her at the airport since I’d not seen any recent photos of her. Darwin and I sat waiting at baggage claim #4 with lei in hand, just as I dozed into daydream land she appeared from the crowd. “Ruth!” I jumped to my feet and opened my arms. We didn’t stop gibbering all the drive home.

Yesterday we ventured into Paia, the day was overcast but it was really nice to sit at the beach for a bit to feed Darwin. Later we went to Costco for more beer, Hayley tripped out. I love taking newcomers there to spin out. Today is overcast again so later we might go for a walk in the Makawao forest, but first a lazy Sunday morning.
