DARWIN’S MOVIN ON UP

DSCN1494

Today was Darwin’s 2 Month Doctor’s appointment at Kaiser Permante, his new insurance provider. He weighs 11lbs 13oz and is  22 1/4inc everything else is perfect he is a healthy baby! The shots we painful for us to watch him have but he wasn’t too upset for long.

Last night was Darwins second night sleeping in his own room in his new bigger crib. He was running out of room to grow in his little Bali crib which now serves as decorational storage in his room. Not having him sleep in our bedroom makes our room seem so much bigger, we miss him but are sure his own room at this age was a good choice.

He sleeps great but is not on any locked schedule, he usually eats before bed at about 9/10pm wakes again to eat at 2/3am then again at 6/6:30am plays for an hour or so then goes back to sleep for an hour or two. There was no difficulty in switching beds although he still sleeps on the sheepskin which may be his familiar comfort, and he loves sleeping on his tummy! I know I am the perfect example of a “what not to do parent” but I know what he likes and what suits him best after trial and error and it just so happens I slept the same way as a baby. (I turned out ok didn’t I?)

The day time schedule is still feed on demand which can be all over the place, sometimes every hour, every 2-3 hours depending on how long his naps are and how active and playful he is. I’m really only concerned with the setish schedule at night, during the day is up to him. We do pretty well like this, as long as we are both happy!

How much baby talk do I need to do? Apparently a lot, have mercy for the new mUm I want to remember all these bits and pieces for our next little monster! Right now we’d like to make Darwin a brother or sister at the end of next year…babies!!!
