Ruthie,

Don't be so hard on yourself. We used disposables on Oscar for the first couple of months for the same reasons you are saying: clothes don't fit, too much work, have to change to often. Looks like plucka duck! We only used cloth fulltime at about 3 months. I must say though we have saved loads of money not having to buy nappies every week. We have 3 dozen and only wash every 3 days, as changing slows down once they get a bit bigger. 6-10 a day. dont beat yourself up you can only do what suits you as a family.
Still love you loads. xxxooo

Congrats to both you and Jason on the cute health little Stone addition..Have you tried to see if they have diaper liners to use. I used cloth diapers as well and made it thru the first few months with a diaper service as well. Much better for the enviroment as well as the pocketbook.
Can't wait to see Darwin in November.

Oh yeah and the bubble but thing – so get what you mean there. I do have some All-In-Ones that are a bit trimmer than most cloth diapers but still! When I’ve got Kawika in cloth he wears his 12-18 months shorts/pants, when he’s in disposables he can STILL fit in his 6-12 moths shorts (dude is 20 months! He’s so got the Stone ass – or lack there of).

More importantly please don’t beat your self up about this, you gave it a try, you’ve got better things to do like kiss that baby!

Ruthie sorry to hear about the cloth nappy thing but don't feel bad it's not for everyone. At the newborn stage I was washing diapers every other day we had 3 dozen flat diapers and about 8 covers and we used the diapers for EVERTHING (burp cloth, changing pad) and newborns need to be changed A LOT . Somehow we were able to get away with doing clothes less often but no matter how you look at it cloth is extra work. Hey I even used a diaper service for a month around the holidays to keep me on track (did get 2 weeks as a gift). Mostly I just felt it was important to me and besides I had diapers and covers to get us through Kawika’s first 6 months so gosh darn it I was going to use these things. It got easier, I developed a system, Kawika needed to be changed less, and we ended up using disposables at least part of the time. So you know whatever works for you guys! And hey you may decide to try it again in a few months I know several moms who’ve done that. If you think you might want to sell your diaper stash let me know HHs are popular with the CDing moms I hang with and I’m sure I could find some buyers.

Sorry that was a long one but you WANTED comments.
