Yesterday we arrived in Cessnock, The Hunter Valley (Wine Country) at about 2 in the afternoon after a short stunning country drive NW of Mona Vale. It was so bloody hot so we decided to do a bit of wine tasting before setting up camp. We only stopped at two wineries, short but very sweet.
It easily would have been many more if I were not up the duff it would be great to do a guided tour.

By about 4pm it had cooled down enough to assemble our tent for the first time in OZ. We found a great site, set up and then had a much needed swim in the pool on site. Since we were so smart and brought an esky (cooler) along with us, we drove to the nearest shopping centre and loaded up. It was home made hamburgers for dinner and after an earily night, tea and toast earily morning for breaky yum yum! It’s great for our tums and pockets having food on hand. We left the camp site around 7:30am and headed for the coast.

We got to Seal Rocks on the coast at about 10:30am and found Trechery Beach (thanks to Pete) which was spectacular! We swam, walked and lay out there unfortunatly there wasn’t enough swell to surf it. There were a couple of longboarders out and you could see how good it could get. The cabins and campground also looked killer but we were headed more north, otherwise we’d never get to Caloundra.

Passing more cafes, campgrounds and beaches along the coast we have arrived in Crescent Head where we’ve set up camp once more. We’ve swam in the sea, showered and after I finish this entry we will be gobbeling down egg sandwiches for dinner. LOVE THIS LIFE!
Jason and I are having so much fun being on the road, we laugh a lot and everyone we’ve crossed paths with have been so sweet.

  1. Ruthie with that long hair and your divine belly you could do a great modern day version of Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” . Well that’s what those photos of you on the beach brought to my mind at any rate. Sounds like you guys are having a great time.

    Much aloha
