ATTEMPTING OUR OWN SHABU SHABU

Two nights ago Jason and I decided to make the Japanese meal “Shabo Shabo” at home. It had been a long time since we last ate it with our Japanese friends for the first time back in August. We thought it would work in our crock pot so we set our small coffee table up with all the trimmings….only after an hour and a half the pot was still not boiling. We had to move it all outside so we could heat the pot up on the hotplate on the side of our BBQ.

A few beers later we had Alex over enjoying a delishious dinner and conversation with us. We’ve decided that we definatily need to buy the seperate portable hot plate so we can cook it anywhere we please. It’s such a fun meal, easy and cheep.

Yesterday Jason helped me complete my name change form, I’m now going to be called Butterfly…kidding. I’m finally changing my name to Ruth Stone, it’s sure taken us a while. I’m going to be very excited when we share the same name, our family name!

Everything else is great, the weather is fine. It’s a bit windy and overcast but nothing like the flooding rain Oahu has had over the last few weeks. Tina is due to pop out her baby on Wednesday the 15th but it hasn’t happened yet. I want to take some photos of her today, hopefully she’ll let me.

Happy Monday!
