THE BIG DAY OUT!

Well it’s Tuesday now, Yesterday was a write off…too tired and sore to report on our intensly super sick weekend at the Goldie.
But now I’m ready!
It all started on Friday morning when Jasmine came over to our house earily after training, we went into town to buy some little bits and pieces for BDO on Sunday. Brett called in a panic, the 120 y.o fig tree which stood magnificantly at the front of their equally old home had fallen over and landed on a part of their house and crushed 4 cars, 2 theirs and 2 of the neighbours!!! CRAZY. We were worried that it would put a damper on what would be one of the sickest weekends ever. It didn’t.

All day Friday we spent with Jazz and Brett along with everyone on the scene dealing with the tree.
Saturday morning Jason, Riley and I left in one car, Jayne and Sarah in another. Jazz and Brett left around lunch when the tree had started to be cut to pieces. We had two huge rooms at Mango Cove in Labrador on the Gold Coast close to the Parklands where the Big Day Out was held. We started off with a few drinks that afternoon which turned into a bit more than a carton (Lots of Beer this trip) Then decided to have an earilyish night to rest for Sunday.

It was like waking up on Christmas morning when your 8y.o. x 1,000. I hadn’t been to BDO (Big Day Out) since 2003, and being Jason’s first I was amped.
11am, over 50,000 people, sick bands, lots of beer etc…, funny people, too much to remember. The day turned to night before our eyes while jumping our asses off in the mosh pit to The Living End (I love the bass player) after getting so amped on Hiltop Hoods (aussie rappers) and before that pushing ourselves through a sea of people for over 10 mins like cattle just to get there. Oh how I miss it all. Lots of bands later, 11pm Jason and I struggled with blisters and bruised toes back to the car and lay down on the grass waiting for our chauffer (Thanks Sarah!). Jason and I had such a great day, it was so good to have experienced it together. Definatily a day to go down in the books of sickness!

Monday morning we drove down to Currumbin for breaky and a swim before making our way back up the coast.

Pics coming soon!
